Professor Federico Jesús Novelo y Urdanivia is a Mexican Economist who graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), a Ph.D. in International Political Science from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), Xochimilco Campus.
He is currently a Professor at UAM Xochimilco, a Member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), and a Full Member (seat 39) of the Mexican Academy of Political Economy (AMEP). He has taught undergraduate courses in economics, administration, sociology, politics, and social management, and in postgraduate studies in economics, master's degree in public policy, and doctorate in social sciences at UAM.
His intellectual production focuses on heterodoxy and Keynesian theory. He has written and coordinated 20 books on institutionalism, inequality, economic policy, philosophy, North American integration, migration, education, and history; more than 200 articles and journalistic notes were published throughout Latin America, Europe, and Japan. He currently writes weekly for El Universal.
